At Ruch Outdoor Community School, we hope to instill in all students a passion for connection and exploration of the natural world.  Focus points of our three-day outdoor education program include:

1) increasing student awareness and understanding of the environment;
2) grounding learning in observing, inquiry, and participation; and,
3) fostering stewardship through community service.

Day One:  Rooting at Ruch

9:30 - 10:00am: Arrive, welcome and snacks
10:15 - 11:00am:  Activity one
11:00 - 11:45am:  Activity two
11:45 - 12:15pm - Lunch
12:15 - 1:00pm:  Activity three
1:00 - 1:30pm: Closing reflection and load bus

Day Two:  Out in the Valley Hikes

9:30am: Arrive at trailhead, opening activity
9:45am: Start hike
12:00 - 12:30pm: Lunch on trail or at bus pick-up location
1:00pm: Load buses

Day Three:  Day at the River

A full day of watershed education at Cantrall Buckley Park provides hands-on science experiences at one of the few public access points to the Applegate River. ​
