FOOD

Whether on campus or in the community, students act as active participants rather than hopeful bystanders in reorienting our food systems towards more sustainable practices.  With proper stewardship, this shift is possible in the form of grassroots, school-driven efforts that include local food production, organic agriculture, and a sense of place.  Ruch Outdoor Community School explores ways to offer healthy meals made with fresher ingredients.

Through gardening and beekeeping, students ask essential questions:

~How do we grow our food?
~Where does our food come from?
~Who is involved and impacted by food choices?
~What is the current landscape of our food system?
