FORESTS
The Rogue River-Siskiyou is the most floristically diverse National Forest in the country with some extraordinary botanical resources. The forests of southwestern Oregon cover almost 1.8 million acres with portions extending into northern California. A map generated by the U.S. Forest Service illustrates the geographical area:

Ruch students study sustainable practices for managing forested and open lands by engaging in regional conservation programs and interacting with resource professionals such as botanists, tree nursery managers, fish biologists, and wildlife surveyors. In addition, students examine the native plant communities through restoration and rehabilitation projects in the Rogue River-Siskyou National Forest with state and local agencies.
